There are few more grand wedding venues than in the North than Bamburgh Castle, a fairy tale location overlooking miles of breath taking coastline.  The castle is spread across nine acres, high above the Northumberland beach.

Mandy and I were very happy to have been chosen by Jill and Philip to cover their Bamburgh Castle wedding.  Both the bride and groom had spent the few days prior to their wedding staying in the village.  With close family travelling a long way to be with them this was a great opportunity to spend some quality with their loved ones.

On the day both Jill and Philip left from cottages in the village so it was easy to capture great photos of the bride and groom preparations.  It was all very relaxed, organised and stress free.

The whole day went without a hitch.  Well I say without a hitch, at one point a gust of wind did blow the brides veil out of her hair and over the edge of the castle.  Luckily Chris the Castle co-ordinator saw what had happen and quickly scurried down to retrieve it.  The weather was a little windy at times but I definitely wasn’t complaining, there was plenty of sunshine and no rain.

After uploading Hayley and Anthony’s photographs yesterday it was great to hear from her today, she LOVES them!  Whilst we are happy with photos it’s always a relief that the bride and groom feel the same way.  Hayley and Anthony were married at Judges Hotel in Yarm and a great day was had by all.  Hayley looked beautiful and all their friends and family made Mandy and I feel so welcome.  Below are a tiny sample of their 400+ wedding photographs.

It was great to meet up with Chris recently at Bamburgh Castle to discuss the finer details of next months wedding.  It will actually be the first wedding at the castle of 2013.  Both inside and outside the castle there are absolutely stunning backdrops for wedding photography.  Bamburgh Castle has stunning views across the coastline and is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Northumberland.

The Castle is one of the most spectacular in the country and was actually an ancient royal seat some 1200 years ago (a little know fact).

We have covered many weddings at Redworth Hall and it is always a pleasure to return.  For Mandy and I as photographers the venue is great, with elegant backgrounds and a few little retreats which are perfect for photography of the bride and groom.

It was a privilege to be part of Emma & Brian’s big day.  When we arrived for the bridal preparations we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

They were married not far from their home at St Philips Neri RC Church in Dunston then after the ceremony we headed to Redworth Hall for the afternoon celebrations.

The weather was fantastic and it was clear all their guests had a great time.  Emma and Brian are two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet and very much in love.  They have their whole future ahead of them and I’m sure they are going to be very happy.  Mandy and I wish you both all the very best for the future.

As is always the case the bride and groom are given the opportunity to view their photographs before their friends and family.  While we wait to hear from them, below is a small sample of their 400+ Redworth Hall wedding photos.
