The George Hotel Wedding Photography - Piercebridge - Darlington - Durham

The George Hotel, Piercebridge near Darlington is situated on the banks of the River Tees.  A few yards from The George are the ruins of a large Roman fort which held the ford over the Tees at Piercebridge for hundreds of years.  On the river banks and in the river thousands of Roman coins and artefacts have been found over the years.  The Dick Turpin room is renowned as the place where the great highwayman himself slept while staying at the George.

Behind its traditional facade, the George has a wonderful Ball room and restaurant overlooking the river.  The Ball Room’s beautifully grand staircase gives a fantastic entrance for any newlyweds to enter in front of their family or friends, or indeed for those all important photographs.

With an Island in the Tees, the George also has a wonderful rear garden where you can relax and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere while sipping a glass of your favourite tipple.
